These Terms of Service apply when you use bymotive.shop or buy from Made by Motive (“we”, “us”). By using the store or placing an order, you agree to them.

Our products

We sell digital planners: spreadsheet templates for Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, and a browser-based wedding planner app. All products are delivered digitally — nothing is shipped. Product images show the planners filled in with sample data for illustration.

Orders and pricing

  • Prices are shown in US dollars (USD). Your bank may apply currency conversion or foreign transaction fees.
  • Taxes are calculated at checkout where they apply.
  • We may change prices at any time. The price you pay is the one shown when you place your order.
  • We may refuse or cancel an order, for example if we suspect fraud or a pricing error. If we cancel an order after you have paid, we will refund you in full.

License to use the products

When you buy a product, you receive a personal-use license — not ownership of the files. The full terms are in our License. In short, you may use and customize the files for one person or one household, but you may not resell, share, redistribute or publicly upload them.

Educational purpose — not professional advice

Our budget, debt, savings and planning tools are for personal planning and educational purposes only. They are not financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice. Results depend entirely on the information you enter and on simplified assumptions. You are responsible for checking your inputs and your decisions, and you should consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

Compatibility

Each product page lists what you need to use it. Spreadsheet features can vary between Excel for Windows, Excel for Mac, mobile apps and Google Sheets. Please check the requirements before you buy.

Intellectual property

All content on this store and in our products — including designs, formulas, text, images and branding — belongs to Made by Motive and is protected by copyright and other laws.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the store, including by trying to access it without permission, interfering with how it works, or using it for anything unlawful.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from decisions you make using our products. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to the amount you paid for the product concerned. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other consumer law that cannot be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of that country.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order.
